DVI-D to VGA 1

Good day all...

I have a Dell docking station that has both a VGA video output along with a DVI-D output. I'd like to have two monitors connected to this. Both monitors are Dells and have the standard VGA cable. As I've yet to locate a DVI-D to VGA connector to make this connection, it makes me wonder if this is even possible. Is the DVI-D interface not able to be connected in such a way?

Do a Google search for "DVI-D to VGA". You will find many sites to order from ($25.00 USD).

Hmmm...

Prior to my original posting, I indeed did such a Google search. I could not located a DVI-D to VGA connector (for $25 or otherwise). I did see many converters which for DVI-D (let me stress the -D) to VGA. Further research has indicated that DVI-D is strictly digital and a converter IS required to connect to a VGA monitor. If anyone knows differently, please advise.

If the output is truely DVD-D, a simple adapter will not work. I'll explain... there are three flavors of DVI:
DVI-D is digital only. The connector does not contain any VGA signals.
DVI-I is digital and analog VGA. The connector contains digital signals on pins 1-5 & 9-24, and VGA on pins 8 and C1-C4.
DVI-A is analog only with VGA signals on pins 6-8 and C1-C4.

The $25 adapters will work for DVI-I and DVI-A, not DVD-D.
