Hi guys,

I have bought a brand new pc. P4. The DVD writer (MSI DVD) has some weired
issue. It can write the CDs but not the DVDs.

Acutally, what happens is it apparently writes the DVDS as it takes time,
writes buffers etc. But when I try to see the contents
nothing appears to be written. I am using Nero software which comes with it.
I also tested some shareware software with it.

Nothing works. The 'Bastard' that I bought the PC from says it is my
Software which makes the DVD not to work as I didn't
buy his OS and other shits!

I don't know what can go wrong.

Any help will be appreciated.

Are you sure you are using the correct type of blank DVD's?

For example mine is a DVD -R -RW drive meaning that I can only use minus disk.

Others will be DVD +R +RW, or just -R/+R and some are dual recorders that will take all disks.

Is the nero software giving you any error messages?

If no joy with the above open the following file:

c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log

The top few lines will be something similar to
