Hi all,

First, let me say that I am not trying to break any laws - I own copies of the DVD's (and CD-ROM) that I'm referring to. That said, here's what I'm trying to do -

I admin a 75 seat W2K / XP network with 2 servers (1 DC, one member) in a Windows domain environment. Some of the software that I use is updated on a regular basis via CD and requires the CD format to work correctly.

Rather than having to run around and update every computer with the media, I have been using a CD Server that creates CD / DVD images on it's hard disk (Axionix's SuperCD). This works ok, but because it's older it doesn't integrate well into the Windows domain (no AD integration, etc).

Now two of my LOB software distro's are switching to DVD format. While the SuperCD can handle this, it's resources are a bit limited (small HD, etc). It's BIOS doesn't provide support for any upgraded hardware and the company will not be putting out any new firmware or software for the device, so it's basically obsolete.

What I would like to do is create a "virtual CD Tower" of sorts using the same concepts that they use with this device but on a server that is part of the domain. I have all of the hardware that I need - does anyone have any suggestions on a DVD->Hard Disk imaging utility that can be downloaded / purchased /etc to accomplish this task.

Again, I have sufficent licenses for all of the software (license compliance is a big deal here!) - I'm just looking to upgrade and streamline what will otherwise be a significant increase in workload if I cannot figure this one out.

Thanks as always

Thanks!! I'll have a look at all of these - if you've used these products, do you have any advice, tips, etc?

Again, thanks much...

- Ed

I have used the first in the list, and liked it.

I believe all three offer a free 30-day trial.

Yeah, that one seems to have the features that I'm looking for - I especially like the file server option.

Thanks again,

Ed
