hi i have a windows2003 with sql2K box, the 2003 server is a web enviroment, no active directory, email, etc..

i have 2 boxes that are physically the same, physically meaning they have samd hard drive, mother boards, etc..

1 of the boxes is in full use on the production, the other doesn't even have an operating system installed, I was wondering what the easiest way to duplicate the production box on the other box, duplicate it exactly, reg keys, software, database files, patch level, etc...

thanks

Image/Ghost it. The easiest way to get what you are looking for.

with imaging/ghosting would i need an operating system already installed with patches set the same as the production server? would i need to pre-install server2003 and install sql2k as well update to same patch level before ghosting?

thanks, never ghosted b4

No, with Ghost, you do not need to load an OS....Ghost uses a pure image
