Duplicate records in report - sporadic

I am working on an open order report for my sales reps and I am encountering a sporadic problem.

Some of my records show up just fine, others duplicate the line items.
I am grouping on the order number, then on the order date. I am trying to include the order notes on these, which links through the order number. That seems to be causing the problem.

I have tried to look behind the scenes on the orders that duplicate, and I can't seem to find a common denominator.
Any suggestions?

Orders that have multiple "order notes" records will give you multiple details records. Depending on your report layout you might want to place you order information in the OrdersDate header and the "notes" in the detail section. If you are summarizing any of the orders data you will want to use running totals that evaluate "on change of group" to avoid the duplicate records problem.
