Hi guys.

I have another stupid question to ask :)

I have this spare 2004p2 ip phone that's inactive. Upon booting it is stuck at Invalid TN: 096.00.05.30 Reaqson:unequipped. On CS1000 I did the following:
ld 20
REQ: luvu
TYPE: 2004p2
TN 96 0 5 30
DATE
PAGE
DES
TYPE 2004P2 TN 096 0 05 30 VIRTUAL 8D VCE

My very limited understanding is that this TN is inactive in the system but I just couldn't figure out a way to enable it so I can assign a DN to it and give it to the end user. Could anyone please guide me through how to achieve this?

Thank you very much!

You could just create a new TN on 96-0-5-30 - did you try that?

Hi GHTROUT,

I worked around the issue by coping a working phone to that TN. However I had a feeling that this was the indirect way. I am not sure how to create a new TN as you advised.

Thank you

To create a new 2004p2 you would:
LD 20
REQ new
TYPE 2004p2
TN xx xx xx xx

Then you would probably have to look at another phone to get the settings right for each prompt. It is not too hard if you know what is needed - the easiest for you is probably to copy instead.

thank you so much both Tman45 and GHTROUT for your kind help.
