Is there some trick to setting up a second monitor on my 2k system. Have an ATI agp card existing. Have added an older ATI 3D Rage II pci. Card and second monitor test fine alone. Driver seems to install fine. ATI offers no driver other than that supplied by Win 2k. Windows site says card is on HCL. However when I go to the Display settings to enable the second monitor, it is not shown, nor is the 'Expand my desktop...' button. MB is ASUS CUV4x.

You must make sure your video card supports dual display. I belive the cards you mentioned do, but I would still check on Microsofts website. Your PCI card should be the master, and your AGP card should be the slave. It is usally the one closest to the CPU. Now right click on the destop and choose properties, or dislplay properties from control panel. When the Display Properties dialog box appears, click the Settings tab.
On the Settings tab, change the Display pull-down menu to the new card you just installed.
Now, check the box marked "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor."
Hit the Apply button when you've finished making the changes.
