I have installed 2 Conexant 56K internals in an XP box
They both have different resources and do not share a common irq (3 and 4) and both have a seperate phone line ... one is a RTAD which allows answering machine, hands free telephone, fax and data the other is just a fax data modem ... my assumption was that these should be able to work at the same time using different apps ... I am using phonetools to provide access to the rtad features on the rtad modem and the Network Places is setup to use the other modem to dialup a remote computer
Does anyone know if these services can work at the same time ... if so what do I need to do to make it work?
I think they both may require TAPI services ... the other issue is once I connect to the remote computer via network places I can no longer reach the Internet services ... almost like the TCP/IP service cannot split traffic between two ports. Yet I can gain access via TCP/IP to local network machines using PC Anywhere. I tried to use the bridge feature but it refuses stipulating the network connection cannot be used by Internet connection sharing ... I don't need connection sharing or the connection firewall so if anyone knows how to turn these off please let me know.
