Hi Hope someone can help. I have a laptop that i use in 2 different locations logging onto the same domain. My problem is that i need 2 different ip address's one for each segment i'm on. The 2 sites are 'joined' via vpn devices over internet

Go into network connections, properties, TCP/IP, properties, use alternate connection.

Cheers,
Jim

Are you saying you need two IP addresses at the same time? Not very easy to do with one NIC. Or are you saying that you need a different IP address at each location? In that case, how are you receiveing your IP in the first place? DHCP or static? It should be DHCP from the system you are plugging into. That way it gives you an IP address and you should not have to do anything.
May be your security guru's are restricting access by PC's and IP's. So that it won't allow the second connection because it already has you designated with the first IP. In that case you have to get them to allow two connections for your laptop.

thanks for all the info its lead me to look in the right area. We use static ip's at present at both sites. But I guess this will probably change now
