I install WinXP on the first HDD, then install Redhat9 on the second HDD. I use floopy to boot Redhat9(simpler than using Lilo, and safer). Both OSs works well for a couple od days. But now I can enter winXP normally, when I use floopy to enter Redhat9, it shows

NTLDR missing, press any key to restart

Wired!!Any help please!!

when I use floopy to enter Redhat9, it shows NTLDR missing, press any key to restart.

NTLDR is the NT Loader: Windows' equivalent to LiLo.

You may have a corrupt floppy disk or a corrupt lilo configuration on the disc.

I suggest you boot using a Knoppix CD, and use this to reinstall your floppy.

btw, I generally install Lilo to the hard disk to boot both linux and windows. Easier than floppies :)

<marc> i wonder what will happen if i press this...[ul][li]please tell us if our suggestion has helped[/li][li]need some help? faq581-3339[/li][/ul]

I backup the linux boot floopy on one PC. So at first I also have doubt, and I use made another boot floopy based on my backup. But still the same error.

It is said that lilo works for dual boot. But last yeaer I tried to use lilo to boot my win2K and redhat8, which didn't work and made me reinstall whole system. So I didn;t choose any boot loader when I installed redhat 9,I use floopy disk to boot.

What is K noppix?

I have Redhat9 installed as server. The one with NTLDR missing problme is installed as Redhat workstation. They don't have same service configuration. But from the same CDs. Is it possible to make a boot flooy from this working one to the other not working one? and how to do ?
