1. We have a second SIP provider that we have just set up with our IPO 500. They have provided one public IP source address for inbound calls and a different destination IP address for outbound calls. I set up two separate SIP trunks (including an ARS for both) for each address and everything is working O.K. Excellent voice quality!!! Although I rabidly subscribe to the premise "if it ain't broke .. don't fix it", is there any other more simple or elegant way to handle this situation? This carrier will be providing us with multiple DID's. Can anyone see any out-of-the-ordinary trouble hovering over our shoulders with this set-up?

2. We have 10 SIP licenses. Is it O.K. to show 10 for each trunk and then the IPO figures out when all 10 are in use across the combined trunks?

Thanks,
Win

Just add the SIP URI's on the incoming SIP trunk and you're OK. Only thing is to make sure they're also in the ICR.

Adding the number in the SIP URI is done by;

Add a SIP URI, change the "Use Authentication Name" by the number of the provider in all of the 3 pulldown menu's (Local URI, Contact and Registration) This needs to be done for every DDI number. If you upgrade to 5.0.x you can use a wildcard by using a * in all 3 pulldown menu's

A bit strange is the fact that your provider uses 2 different ip addresses for in/out going traffic.

Thanks "Dain",
I will work on that after things close tonight. Unfortunately there is no upgrade in the works for now. I too thought it some what unusual about the different addresses, but can't argue with success. They were turned on within two days after the business arrangements were taken care of and worked the first time we programmed them ... "right out of the box". Once the dust settles I will ask their tech group about the multiple addressing.
