Hi there,

I have got an s8700 ip-connect that is connected via isdn to a frad , that goes over a vsat system to houston where it is connected to another frad and isdn .

Now we have noticed that when we make a call we hear dtmf blips and bleeps. And the person who we called doesn't hear it.

Also we have a lot of cases of misdialing , where we dial for example 4xxx and we go to 9xxx ?

any help would be grately appreciated

I have done some testing , and it seems to be worse with female voices talking fast or at a high pitch.

as it is only on our side , can this be a problem with the decoding of the voice path ?

the delay is about 1.5 seconds ( as we are going over the satelite ) can this be a problem with this delay ?

thnx

I have similar problems on our VOIP system. The avaya guys tell us that it is the packets arriving out of order. That we should turn on priority routing (I think thats what they called it) within our network switches.

The way VoIP is designed is that if packets arrive out of order, then they're discarded.. So I don't believe thats the issue. for example what good does it to have someone say "what" and then it arrives to the called party as "at - wh"

Hey,

We have got Qos on all the segments on the network , the problem seems to be happening on the start of a word and at the end. we are looking to see if the compression algorithm of the frad can be the problem .

ps solved the misdialing , one of the timeslots on the frad was sending the site code , while it should delete it.
