But i cant find their web sites, is this compagny still alive. thanks

decades ago we had a site that we needed a lot of anac's and there att staff was not to keen on the idea so we got used to express mail to id the number. now my mail just sends the dn to my pager...

Do you have the web site of MCK ?
thanks

Was looking for the same device a couple of years ago and I believe MCK did not continue production of that particular item.

Citel Technologies Acquires Assets of MCK Communications from Verso

(Seattle, WA--January 24, 2005) -- Citel Technologies, a global provider of IP telephony and communications solutions, announced that it has acquired the assets of MCK Communications, Inc. (MCK), a leading provider of distributed voice solutions for the extended enterprise, from Verso Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRSO), an integrated communications solutions company.

To my knowledge nobody makes the "speak back my extension" box that DTI named "Test Phone"

Whomever does make one, will get about 100 calls within the first hour after it is posted somewhere.

I SET UP A VOICEMAIL BOX, AND JUST DIAL THE EXTENSION NUMBER. THEN I GO IN AND GET THE INFO

We do have the DTI Test Phone, but I've had to resort to the voice mail method. The PERRYPJ post prompted an idea. I guess it isn’t a huge convenience, but it adds a slight amount of automation, hopefully it will prompt an even better method. – something that gets you your DN faster.

From the subject phone, dial the number of the “test mailbox” you use for collecting the calling DN (this example, call 6245 for mailbox 6245).

Immediately conference in an answering machine or “device” that is capable of having this string of sounds and DTMF play (Lots of sound editors have DTMF)

Speak “Calling Number Test, Calling Number Test” then

“#79 , 816245 # 12345 # 8699272 ,,,,,,, 83”

#79 – ends message and deposits
81 – calls the logon prompt
6245# – the mailbox number plus pound
12345# - the password plus pound
8699 – goes to the last message, presumably less than the 99th
2 – starts playback
72 – plays envelope
,,,,,,, - waits during envelope
83 – disconnects

The 8699 is so you can go to the last message in case you have left previous calls that are still “new” To hear a series of messages, you’d have to log in without the answer machine

(Note that a pager that the mailbox outcalls to with the calling DN is OK, but the pager isn’t always fast enough)

This script works great if you own the packages needed

For those out there who have symposium with meridian mail access ports. This script works quite nice for ANAC. I use it at my site it reads off CLID for inside and outside calls. The script uses the numbers that are recorded in file2 of the voice prompt editor. Just build a CDN and assign this script:

************************

/*
** CLID_playback
**
**
*/

open voice session
play prompt
numberbydigit clid
end voice session

disconnect

******************

Fumbled my way through SCCS, built script, changed Master, acquired CDN then tested. Called CDN, rang once, got answered, got dead air, got disconnected. Did I miss something M1PBXTech?

Telco01 ,
You need to have access ports and the "voice prompt editor" setup. Voice prompt editor is located in the SCCS client under System Configuration.

It requires a Meridian mailbox assigned for the voice prompt editor that the server will load prompts to. This is how it has the numbers to play back to you in a voice session.

Hope this helps

Thanx M1PBXTech,
I'll give that a try today!

M1PBXTech,
If you have time could you get a little deeper into the Voice Prompt Editor. Do I need to make a recording for each digit or is there a predefined file that I could use? I'm under the learn as I earn program!

I wish I could help you with the details about setting up voice prompt editor piece but, it was setup a while ago and I would have to dig into the books.

There is a mailbox built in Meridian mail Symposium knows it is there because when you logon with the voice prompt editor tool you need to enter the mailbox number.

There are two files (file 1 & file 2) that are shown after you give the mailbox number to the voice prompt editor. One file is all the "canned" prompts (mostly numbers) these do not need to be recorded if I remember correctly. The other file is any custom prompts you might record like "Please continue to hold". I have around 40 custom prompts in this one file and it sure beats ran recorders!

Unfortunately I use the voice prompt editor all the time to change/add prompts but it’s been years since I setup one from scratch. Of course the script I posted needs the voice prompt editor to play the numbers back to you when you call the CDN. Perhaps someone else might be more familiar with the setup of Voicepromt editor. I know you must have access ports assigned in SCCS & Mermail to use the voice prompt editor or it will not work.

Thanx a lot, completed the mission. Works great!
