Hello all,

If no updates are installed on 5.5, what type of impact may this cause. I'm hearing that this will only affect calendars. If the client calendar updates are installed, will everything be okay???

I know for 2003, the exchange 2003 update AND the client updates must be performed (2 seperate updates). I don't see how just the client update will fix this in a 5.5 environment..

I have been reading the updates for 2003 exchange server

Specifically, I was looking at this:

Why is the update required for Exchange?
Microsoft calendar software such as Outlook depends on the operating system time zone information to display time information. However, Collaboration Data Objects (CDO)-based programs such as Outlook Web Access depend on separate internal time zone tables. This update modifies these internal time zone tables to match the changes in time zone settings.

Without this update, calendar items in CDO-based programs and in Outlook Web Access will operate as if standard time is in effect during the extra weeks of daylight saving time. For example, without this update CDO-based programs will operate in standard time during the following periods in 2007:

Can we assume the same for exch 5.5? If we don't install the 5.5 exch update and install the client updates, will OWA be the only thing affected? Should everything else run smoothly with Microsoft Outlook clients?

Thanks

That thread is a mess. Most of the posts are off topic and not even related to exchange 5.5.

Most are in fact related to Exchange 5.5. Most are on topic. I'm terribly sorry for pointing you to a solution to your question. I won't bother in future.
