Trying to load DSREPAIR and I get the following error

Loading Module DSREPAIR.NLM [ INIT FAIL ]
DSREPAIR-5.0-037: Directory Services API interface versions do not match
DSREPAIR internal interface version is: 99
DSREPAIR API interface version is: 101
Directory Services API interface version is: 98
Module initialization failed

I installed SP3 a few months ago to resole a Excel saving problem and haven't looked at the directory since. I went to make a backup of the directory for a test server and went to run dsrepair to make sure everything was good and got this error. Can you help? Do I need to reinstall SP3?

Thanks

Compare the version of DS.NLM and DSREPAIR.NLM stored in the SYS:SYSTEM directory and on the SP3 CD. Make sure you have what is on the CD.

If all else fails, download latest SP for DS 8.6.2 (SP4 I think) or install DS 8.7.1.

Thanks for your reply. After going home and thinking about it for a while I went back late last night and compared DSREPAIR on the SP3 folder with what was installed and found it never got updated on both systems. I ended up comparing all the nlm's in the patches SYS\SYSTEM directory to make sure every thing was up to date as it should. DSREPAIR was the only file that wasn't the same. Odd. Anyways problem solved.

Thanks again for your time. I will double check the DS.NLM to be sure on Monday.

Just curious what was the Excel issue that this SP was supposed to solve? We have an odd problem of certain Excel files coming up read only and the user who supposidly has the file locked has never opened it.

Very Slow saving to the network drive. We basically have 2 fixes. SP3 on the server with latest client version on the PC (4.9) and turn off file caching on the client.
