dsl disconnects

my dsl loses its juice several times a day. it just dies. i can always get it going again by rebooting. but wonder if there is something else i can try in lieu of that.

You might have better luck with a different carrier. As for the line, I have found it best to have a new line run and have DSL installed on it rather than use an existing line that may not have clean connections.

Regarding speed, if you can get cable modem make the switch.

My cable modem has gone out twice int he past year. never for more than a few hours. My DSL was out for 2 weeks straight once with no satisfaction from the carrier.

i assume you mean when you say have a new line run, that the existing line is not used. i am pretty sure that wasn't done.
 
Yes, that ws what I was referring to. If your line has any noise it can cause problems. Getting a new line run can take that possibility out of the equation.
