We are installing Media Gateways in Tokyo & Singapore - we're interfacing the MM710's to a T-1 PRI in Tokyo and an E1-PRI in Singapore. The problem we have though is the physical connections...

Does anyone know if the DMARC/CSU from the service providers are RJ45 or another type? We tried to get pictures, but they weren't very helpful.

Basically we'll need RJ45 (MM710 end) to _________. But we don't know what the other ends are...

Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks,
98C

While, I've never ordered a circuit in that part of the world, I can tell you that you don't want a RJ45 handoff. RJ45 is an ethernet standard. You're confusing the 8pin8connector which is called RJ48X or RJ48C when your referring to a T1/E1. That is what your looking for. The local telco there should be able to provide that type of hand off. If not, then it could be G.703 which could be handed off on 75 ohm coax or 120 ohm twisted pair.

Ya - RJ48C... I have another person on-site in Tokyo taking pictures of the cable that is currently plugged into what appears to be a 259A adapter which is plugged onto the Prologix.

Singapore may be a little more difficult. But I'll go the route in asking the service provider for a cable.

Thanks,

What is your Provider in Singapore? Singtel, M1 or Starhub? If Singtel, most of the time, the guys who terminate it mix the cabling on their termination point but its all the same. Its just that they are swapping the the transmit and received.

You may need to request to link with MM710 is RJ45 connection. Most of the time, they terminate it on a small telephone wiring box. Pin 1 and 2 (transmit) and 4 and 5 (receive) are being swap, so you just have to play around with your cabling.
