I split my webpage into 2 frames, "top frame" with links. "under frame" to display content.

the top frame is only 100 pix high, with visible links. In that links, I make hidden dropdown menus, it will display when mouseover the link.

Once the dropdown menu appears, the menu will be more than 300 pix high (>top frame height). so the menu is hidden behind the under frame.

My question is: is there a way to show the dropdown menu "overflow" the topframe and make it not hide behind the content frame?

what I am making is just a dropdown menu like the 'favorites' tab in the IE tool bar. when click the toolbar, the drop down menu pops out ignoring any frame border on the screen.

I have spent days trying to figure this out but no luck. I appreciate of any suggestion.

I am using Dreamveaver 6.0. don't know script.

I agree with Chris

It is very difficult to make this happen, I would suggest searching google to see if someone has posted an answer to this question.

Thanks you guys. I will not use frame. Try some other way.

I Just found a website, weh.com, this is something I am looking for. In IE, it looks just good. But when I get it down and open in DW, the link section(menu links) is a very wide area...How could the dropdown manus be 'shrinked' and 'hidden' in the IE.

It looks like some script ASP are working inside which made that happen. If that is the case, it is out of my knowledge... frustrated.

Thank you anyway. Have a nice day.

Are you talking about the popup menus? Do you have fireworks? If so, fireworks can create the popup menu's for you. Otherwise do a google search for either CSS or Javascript popup menu's. I am sure there tutorials on how to make both of them. Either way neither will work across frames.
