I have a data access page that has a drop down list in it. This control is bound to the EmployeeID field in my Orders table (2-column field). I cannot figure out how to get this to show ONLY the employee name, and not ID. When I go into my DAP and properties for this control - There isn't anywhere to specify which columns are hidden, column size, etc. Has anyone ever ran into this before??

Thanks!

Still looking however a fast fix is to cut it off the page, rebuild it via the combo box wizard. At that point you'll be able to adjust its column widths. Gord

GORD - Thanks much for checking into this; however, wizards don't work on DAP's.

Let me know if you find something!!

Thanks again!!!

You are doing this through Access 2000? If so, they are there! Gord

GORD - When I attempt to execute a wizard I get the message "The wizard will only run when your current database is the data source for your page." I couldn't find anything in the Page properties that dealt with data source, so I checked my connections in Data Link Properties. The path to my current database is referenced in Box 1 here. I don't know what else to do to enable these wizards. . . Any suggestions??

Thanks!!!

Are you running a split DB? If so perhaps you could trick the wizard momentarely by moving your data (employees table) back to local?...just a guess and we don't want to get too far from the real problem! Keep informed... Gord

GORD - No, my db isn't split. . .

??

You've got me. I'm running 2000/AMD950 locally and all my wizards work fine although I have had days on slower computers when they were out "doing their wizardry" somewhere else. Perhaps try to reload/repair Access off the 2000 disc and check if you have all the wizards available to you.?! Gord

GORD - O.K. - FINALLY problem solved!!! I put the wizard aside and built a query referencing my Employees table(this was confusing, because the value I needed to populate my Orders table with was originally coming from the Employees table...). Anyway, I then referenced this query in my ListRowSource in my DAP drop-down field. Working fine now!!

Thanks for all your suggestions!!
