Morning,

If i create a date parameter in Crystal XI, upon refreshing the report i receive the usual Enter Values box but in addition 'Business Objects' text with a red cross.

If i select the calendar icon a runtime error occurs asking whether i want to Debug on Line 79 with an error of object expected.

Any ideas?

thanks

Hi,
Usually the little red x
means that some add-on control could not be installed
( usually an AciveX object or Java applet) due to lack of permissions on your PC - need to have administrative rights
in many cases, or to some add-on blocking setting in IE or other toolbar installations.

Thanks Turkbear,

I have actually altered each of the settings in IE6, as well as installling the up-to-date version of Java. No such luck.

I've also hecked Add-Ons and this isn't giving me help.

I can add the date manually in format yyyy-mm-dd... but this really isn't the solution i was hoping for.

Any advice on particular settings would be gratefully received.

Hello,

If you have a CrystalReportViewers virtual directory on your prod machine (check using inetmgr on your prod machine), verify it is using the correct version of .net. I had the same problem with my site (CRXIR2/VS2005 - converted from VS2003). When I looked at the configuration for the virtual directory (the reason I created the virtual directory in the first place was because I was having problem with the calendar control displaying when the site was VS2003 and that was the solution offered from Business Objects), aspx files were set to use and old version of .net. I changed it to .net 2.0, did iireset and it now works.

Hope this helps.

Solved.

Found a posting at:

Basically it appears the following files need to updated as they're either old or corrupted version with this Product:
-------------------------
C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\crystalreportviewers115\prompting\css\promptengine_default.css (3Kb modified on 11/3/2004) with one from a working machine (5Kb modified on 01/23/2007)
C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\crystalreportviewers115\prompting\js\promptengine_calendar.js(23Kb modified on 7/8/2005) with one from a working machine (27Kb modified on 01/29/2007)
--------------------------
NB: Resolution copied from above post. Thanks to Chad.
