Drive status AVR should be ACS

HI,
NB DC 4.5 MP6,Master server w2k,Media server w2k,ACSLS SUN,
Robot L700,drives 9840 fiber,LMG and LibAttach. I have problem with the above mediaserver which is on DMZ.After reboot it changes the port(s)so I have to open different ports in the FW, the drive status is AVR, after opening needed ports and doing up the status change to ACS.BUT now nothing helps, I opened for everything in the FW, but no luck.I ran the drive config wizard,runs ok finds all drives.
Other mediaservers behind the FW runs ok.
Any tip,please?

Not sure if this relates to your problem, however, here is a problem that we experienced previously.

Solaris 8 Master with a mix of Solaris and Win2k media servers (including SAN media servers), Total of 9 media servers. All were using the SSO option, connected to fibre, and ACSLS controlling a STK 9310 (9840 drives).

We found that if the Win2k media servers came on-line BEFORE the Unix media servers and ACSLS, that the win2k boxes would grab exclusive control of the shared drives. They didn't play nicely in the SSO environment. Ultimately, they would be in AVR control.

So we made a point of ensuring ALL unix media servers and ACSLS were completely up prior to the win2k media servers.

Not sure this will help your problem, but thought I'd throw our findings out there.

You might consider the 'vmoprcmd -crawlreleasebyname <drivename>' command to see if this helps.

Under W2K, if you are not using it for anything else, simply set the Removable Storage Manager service to disabled or go through the GUI and make sure that the devices are set to disabled. NT always tries to take control and it must not have control in a Veritas environment.
