Have I gone mad? Manager and webmaster are convincing me to have one 36gb c drive on a w2k server running IIS 5.0 instead of partitioning it into two drives. They're worried because IIS 5.o doesn't let you install it anywhere but to the c drive and they imagine hassels while building the webpage. I don't know. Can't really think of a valid argument against it. Can you? Thanks for input...

IIS won't let you install anywhere but C yes, but you can move the inetpub folder anywhere on the machine or to another machine on your LAn if you wanted to. I absolutely HATE putting Win2k on one monsterous partition simply for the fact that you may have to reinstall the OS. That way you can still maintain your data in the event of a reload. All Complaints Will Be Routed To /dev/null

Thanks for the opinion. It makes so much sense I can barely stand it! The problem is when I tried to move the inetpub folder I got an error message saying "cannot copy CiCL0001: there has been a sharing violation" and it wouldn't completely move the folder. I had all web services stopped, still no luck. This is what made the webmaster and my boss all nervous about moving it.
