I have a 20 Gig drive, I just upgraded from 98 tp XP. This computer has a C drive with 4 Gigs and a D drive with 16Gigs. The problem is that the memory on C keeps getting low while the D has plenty of space.

How do I combine C and D to make it C only? If I add a slave (or here in california political correctness is called a secondary HD)besides asigning the pins what else do I need to do?

Thansks

How much free space is available on the C partition?
Do you frequently clean out all unnecessary files from the C partition, specifically from the Windows\Temp and Windows\Temporary Internet Files folders?
Are there any applications installed on the C partition that can be removed and reinstalled on the D partition?

If you've already done the above to try to increase the free space on the C partition and it's still too low, and the recent Windows XP installation was done by reformatting the HD and using a Windows XP full installation CD(not an upgrade CD), then reformat and reinstall except this time install just a single partition.

If you used an XP upgrade CD, then you can use Partition Magic to combine the 2 partitions into one.

thanks matter resolved by reformatting the c drive, now I installed a 200 gig drive slave HD the system "sees" he drive byt I can not write anything on it.

Pls help

You're welcome.
