Dreamweaver Templates, couple of questions 1

I, after good advice from a couple of of you, took my website design down the template route of 'block' design to keep a consistent look and feel to the site.

Please take a look and tell me where I am going wrong

My questions are:
On the index page you can see that both the images in the content area are missing now I understand this could be file path problem but I assure you I have tried to find an error in the patch but so far see nothing wrong with it. Is there something to do with templates that might be causing the problem?

I have created a left sided menu within a a cell in a table and created a background image for this cell and tried to correspond the background colour of the table to match the last colur of the image. The reason I did this was to create a flowing image that could 'look' consitent on any page in my site however much content was in the page. My problem as you can see is that it continues to copy the image, where have I gone wrong on that one.

Hiya peeps, sorry bout that I somehow managed to sort the index out by a stroke of luck last nite but still dont know how. I managed to start a new page last night :

you will notice that the pic is missing now. It has something to do with the fact I am creating a new page from a template...not sure what but i'm sure thats where I am going wrong. I seemed to sort out the index page last night after getting it from the remote site site saving it again locally and re-putting it. It then worked...strange.

Also does anyone have any ideas about the recurring image in my left sided menu?? Take a look at the 1st question submitted at the top of the page

Yup....as far as I'm aware why would that be a problem? It seems strange that some are fine yet new pages seem to drop the image

Just noticed that the image is there in the residential page aswell. STRANGE!!! Would it have something to do with the times that images are submitted??? Thanks for checking it out for me vbkris. You dont happen to have any ideas about the left menu question I had??

that will recur cause u have to set it as a background...

in such cases:
1. Cut the entire thing as an image.
2. Cut image without text and put text in layers.

The advice u gave solved the repeating image problem, but I am having problem with the layers in the page. The layers are appearing to the left of the site, how do I align them with a particular area of the page. Please advise

what do u mean? when i view the page in 800x600 the page looks fine...

note:
the layer will not move when u resize the page. thats because u give them a fixed left and right co-ordinates...

another way is to use a table that has two rows and one column.
in the first column set the green image as background. note that the height of this cell must be the same as the image (so that it doesnt repeat). inside this cell insert a table containing ur links.

in the second row of the table fill in with backcolor of the green that appears after g in talking...

Thanks for pointing out about layers being given co-ordinates (didn't realise), i'm going to try to place a new set of tables within the cells now and see if it works that way..Thanks for your time, i'll let you know how I get on

If you check the page out again vbkris, I'm back to where I started at the start of this thread, I have specified the size of the cell to be 405px - the size of image as requested, yet it still repeats. I'm not entirely sure how i'm going to tackle this.

the problem is that ur installation table is inside a layer rather than the table which will have the background. and dont set table background. set the cell background image...

and one more thing if u can zip up ur html and the left image only and send it to my id i can also work on it.
