hello!

I am updating a website (as a favor of course) and I am confused about the dreamweaver created template. I design websites for a living but have never used templates before so I am confused as to how to update. Basically i got the duties of the website after it was built and maintained for a few years. The guy that had it before me is now dead so I can't ask him questions. The problem, I downloaded all the files and the template. I can fix and page no problem at all, but if links need to be changed I want to update the template so they get fixed on all the pages. However, when I make changes and then upload the template nothing happens. Do I have to re-attach the template or something? Is there an easy answer?

Thank You!

Make your changes to the template, save it and then use Modify>Templates>Update pages.

But consider a redesign using includes rather than templates.

Okay Thank You. I tried that and it didn't update all the pages.... I would love to do a redesign but I am not getting paid for this so I can't take the time away from my other clients.

Are all of the pages connected to the template? Or is there another template? Sorry not to be a load of help as we have always used includes rather than templates.
