Last week one of my exchange 5.5 servers went down after someone thought it was taking too long to reboot and shut it down hard. I was able to get the IS started again after a few hours, but then I was unable to perform full backup. IS has been corrupted. I made a copy of the priv on another NT server and used the esefile /s to determine that one of the checksums were bad. I repaired the priv and lost minimal pages. I did a test restore and was wondering, Since I have been unable to backup my server; technically no transaction logs have been committed to the priv. Could I shutdown the exchange services on my server and replace the corrupt priv with the repaired priv? I only ask because basically they (the two priv's) are the same.
Any suggestions or advice?? BTW, Restoring is not an option, because we would lose 6 days of information. Thanks in advance.

yes, you should be able to do that, and it should cycle through the logs upon restarting the services.

I'm going to try it on the test server, at the moment the priv is copying over.
