Since the previous thread was getting a bit long I've decided to start a new one.

Ok, so Chris let's assume that your approach is best, to save the entire thread as a memo. I did a quick test and a text file of two TekTips pages, one large and one small were 98k and 50k respectively. So if we have an average of 75k messages and 6000 threads the database would be 450 meg +. I guess this is feasible, but it is rather large. Anyway the next question is what's the best way to pull down each thread in order. I suppose I need to look at what's behind the 'next thread' button. Dave Dardinger

Hi Ramani,

your plan is still interesting for me.
Now that we have some months later - anything new to be seen in your project-plan?

Hi Klaus

Yes ! Indeed. I am able to achieve some success is a good news. But since I am tied with other projects and that I only use this.. there are several of my personal classes having its functions.. I havent thought of seriously getting this out public.

Several months gone !.. shhhhhhh..

ALmost I am at where I was .. may be little progress.... Right now I am on a large project with a couple of months to go. All with a hope for future in my business rather than tied down orders. One of my favourite FPD working for over a decade with over 100 small clients base.. getting converted to VFP with lot more features. Once I release that out.. I will spend more time on the side issues.

Klaus.. thanks for showing interest. Leave your email in my email box.. and I will let you know.. if that takes off and become freeware .. on a future date. :) ramani :)

Hi Ramani,

thanks for your statement.

I can follow you very close because it is the same with me: a lot of daily work and on the other
hand I started to write a file-manager for VFP which should have a lot of nice features
one day (should e.g.show every column/row of a file (up to 255) with a lot of possibilities to
manipulate, e.g. find and sort and totalling each info in each column/row immediately -
just by a mouse click, without any vfp-knowledge , especially for big files) - I am sure that I can
leave you a copy (as a beta-tester *ggg) when it is ready.

But that needs time and btw. causes a lot of fun - but then the daily work swaps concentration
away when one resides just in the depth of code....... however the dream remains....(laugh)
Sounds well-known, right?

Here is my home-adress, as I will leave this company as per Dec.20 this year (resigning)

Would be glad to hear from you.
