Hey dudes its me again,

I got another weird problem, When i download any files from internet, and site, .exe, .zips, .msi. etc... some of the files hang at 99%, one one occasion the download hung for about half an hour, before i cancelled it. It this does not seem to happen on all sites, or all file types, just a random thing that is happening more often...

I have tried downloading the same files from different computers, servers, and buildings. I came home the other day that was able to download this 2meg file easily, but could not at work.. we have Checkpoint NG FP2 installed, and i think that has something to do with it, i have tried logging but that shows nothing as the download is accepted.

Please can any one help... Regards

Have you tried asking the people who provide your internet access/external lines?

I have tried that avenue, they claim that it could be the way that network is setup, but i disagree cos, other huge downloads come fine, the latest sp3 for win2K was 128 Meg, that came down like in less than ten mins, no problems, some files though about 800k hang, but i can friends from another firm to download them from the same web site... It sounds like it finishes downloading the entire file, but can't copy/move it from the temporary location to where you wanted to download it to. (Windows, when you do a download, will pull the files data down into \Temp Internet Files\, and once the file is complete, it will move that temp file to the actual location).

Why it couldn't copy the file across though I don't know - lack of disk space? [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K

I have over 2 Gig of free disk space on the servers, and over 10 Gig of space on the workstation.. At home i have less than a gig, and the files come down straight away..

Its really puzzling, as some huge downloads are fine. Regards
