Hi, I have purchased an ACER aspire 5610 laptop, which I do not recommend.

I have tried to ask the ACER technical support about my problem but they do not give assistance for retail windows version.

[blue]My problem is the following:

My laptop has 2 partitions, one with xp and one with vista.

I have installed all drivers and esoftwares (ACER managing software) correctly

Unfortunatly, the batterie is recognized as a standart microsoft batterie --I do not have the exact name of the driver with me.--

When I try installing the epowermanagement, the softwares does not install, it gives me a blank error message and it quits the installation.

I have asked technical support and all they told me is that since I did not have the OEM liscensed ACER version, I would not be able to perform that installation.

My question is the following:

Can I install another power management software without damaging my notebook, and or is there any way to install the epowermanagement software?

The batterie is a ACER standart 4cell battery.

Thank you for your answers!

Cordialy,

Julien

I would let windows own take care of it...

I have a Fujitsu laptop, which works fine with Billie's software watching the battery...

The thing is windows power management tools do not control the screen and processors, which is what I am looking for. So far, staying with windows is my best option.

I have seen this program called battery doubler, I will test it but I doubt I will purchase.

I did not specify but I do not really wish to spend money on that program, since it should be included with my laptop.

N.B. most laptops started building around windows vista, which I consider a waste since they are not power efficient enough.

On my Fujitsu, the Screen is set to shut down after 5min (poweroptions) and XP, will idle the CPU down to 900mhz when it is not in use...

Billie=MS...

I am talking about the screen intensity, and processor intensity while active.
