Dot Matrix Printer Addition

I have tried to added a printer via hppi and lpadmin, it has added successfully. I can ping the ip address and an entry has been made in /etc/hosts, but nothing is printing out. The printer is attached to a jetdirect box, so not sure if I need to setup any extra files e.g. rc.SockIT. I am fairly new to this operating system, never delt with setting up printers on the sun box.

Can anyone give me ideas to look at please

what exactly did you do?

I recommend to setup the printer with JatAdmin (download from

http://www.hp.com)

or use netstandard interface like in this tutorial
