Is it possible to connect to a ftp server from dos based pc
 
Yes, but you will need some software for networking (packet driver and ftp-program for DOS).
 
From where i can download ftp for dos
 
If you've got Win98, you also have FTP. Open a dos window and type ftp, then pres Enter. You should see this: ftp>. Type quit to end session. As far as I know, you don't need any packet drivers, just a connection to the server. If you're on a LAN then you've got what you need. If you're connecting over the Internet, you just need the url or the server. There's always a better way...
 
i want to use ftp in dos based pc there is no windows, for that i need ftp for dos

I tried in net i did't get pls advice the site for downloading the ftp for dos
