anyone know if there is a command I can issue from the DOS prompt that will give me the machine name of a win 95 pc? I need to use it in a script.

Perhaps nbtstat -n redirected to a text file will help?

nbtstat -n > c:\myfile.txt

Without knowing exactly what you need to occur, this is my best suggestion. Good luck.

you can get it part way out with find "username" system.dat

I just yanked the hostname.exe file from a win2k machine and used it in my script and it worked fine. Thanks anyway though!
