I'm currently developping an Access 2000 app for Win98 SE, French version. When I print some reports ( using an Epson 570+ ), no problem. But when I switch to Fortune 1000 ( 9.x, MS-DOS ), the printer doesn't print at all : just a page break... We have to restart the printer in order to print the F1000 reports and bills... The same thing happens if I print a Win98 test page before switching to F1000... It might be a Win98 / DOS conflict. I tried to put the spooler settings to RAW, EMF and "Print directly to printer", with the same results. Please help me !

Thanks for the help !)

Are you using a switch box, or do you have a second parallel port?

We had some troubles when we moved to Windows 98 on a dos program written back in the early 80's. The switch wouldn't let it print.

We had to install a second parallel port, or all we got was a line of jibberish.

No. The computer has 2 parallel ports, one for the Epson and the other for a laser printer ( HP 1200 ). We're not using a switch for the two printers, and both Access reports and F1000 bills must be printed on the Espon...

P.S. : I didn't use the right words to explain myself, sorry !) I'm "switching" between OS, not between printers ! ;o)

Finally, i found the problem !!

This was only a driver conflict... The Win98 default driver for the Epson 570 doesn't allow printing with Win and DOS at the "same" time... the printer must be restarted in order to print in DOS...

But, thanks to Epson, their new set of drivers resolves the problem !!!

Thx to Donnadee ! ;o)
