Hi

I have a norstar system set up and it has been working for years... But this is my question

We have a door phone(viking) and it is programmed to ring all extensions, one of the secretaries has a button programmed on her phone so if someone is at the door but doesnt press the call button she can still interact with them (talk listen and if she presses the code buzz them in) we would like our other secretary to have the same feature... I was wondering how i would program the button on the other phone

I did a button inquiry and it says 027 DOOR and the port number is 027

You need to see what type of DOC Door Opening Contoller system type it is as it's controls the codes.

O27 is Trunk/Line 7 on the system, the Viking calls in on that trunk.

The first girl either press a different button you mention of a digit on the key pad.

Get the manual for the DOC type used.

I guess i am confused by your response...


On her phone (see link below) the 6th button on the left most row of buttons is labeled door (she wrote it in so she wouldnt forget what it does) if you press the button you can hear what is happening outside and if you press 14 it activates the door strike. If the call button is pressed (outside) then anyone can pick up the call and then press 14 to let the visitor inside. But only secretary 1 has that programmed on her phone and secretary 2 needs to have that function as well. (people dont always see the call box and they call the office and she just presses the door button presses 14 and then they can enter) So i would like to program secretary 2's phone to have that because they work different days and she has to run over to the other phone and press the door button then press 14.

go into programming under terminal and sets, put in the ext number and then to line access, show line,enter 027. press change until you see appear and ring

The problem is that the whole office can not figure out the extension of the door.... we just know the port number.

your door phone emulates a phone line. just add phone line 027 to the secretary's phone.

how do i go about doing that? I just want a button on her phone that says DOOR and she can listen, talk, and if 14 is keyed in buzz people in. She needs to have the same button as the first secretary

Ok thanks... i figured it out.... i also added a button for the code so she doesnt forget it (shes an elderly woman)
