domine server error, Please help

I'm starting to install Win2000 server for my non profit organization (there is no other people who can handle this...).
I have no particular skills in WAN as this is my first install.
We have 9 computers using windows 98 . I have create a domine controller and I keep the old workgroup and I put the whole computers as a member in workgroup, when any of the users tried to login he/she faced the following message:

"No Domine server was available to validate your password. You may not be able to gain access to seom network resources."

And the user have the choise between yes or no. if he click yes he sill could share the share folder and could print, and also the same happened if he click no.

Please if any one could help me, understand this problem or solve it. Thanks in advance

I have create a domine controller and I keep the old workgroup and I put the whole computers as a member in workgroup First, what operating systems. You need to get out of the workgroup and have them join the domain is what this sounds like. I'm assuming your old system before the dc was put in place was peer to peer? Good luck. Glen A. Johnson
