Hey,

Is it allowable / wise to upgrade one domain controller at a time (can 2000 and 2003 domain controllers exist in the same forest)?

Because of time to backup (and potentially recover if problems arise), I would like to do one per weekend. My test domain only has one domain controller, so I cannot test this portion :(

thanx in advance,
steve c.

Yes this is not a problem at all. Just make sure you run
ADPREP /FORESTPREP
ADPREP /FORESTPREP

first on the FSMO role holder and all will be happy.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

PS, noticed you posted this in the Exchange forum. You were referring to the OS right?

If Exchange is involved, you would need to upgrade Exchange to 2003 befor eyou can upgrade the OS to 2003. Exchange 2003 is the only version of Exchange that can run on Windows 2003.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
