My server 2000 domain name is say and our corporate website hosted in another city is From my office network I can't see It appears the request doesn't get past my server. Is it a problem because my server domain name is the same as the web site I'm trying to view?

Thanks.

Yep. Your DNS server thinks is the DC for your domain, therefore it won't forward out any requests for an external abc.com name....

It´s better if your AD domain is different than your internet domain. Anyway you can change your server name from " to other, and configure " entry in your local DNS (probably your AD DNS) to point to your website.
