System: PC (win XP) through Netgear wireless router to cable modem to ISP (charter).
Domain (test.org) was hosted by testhost. On 5/4/06 moved to hosting by yahoo. Domain registered at GoDaddy. Changed Nameserver entries 5/4 from testhost (moon1.testhost.com) to Yahoo(YNS1.yahoo.com). Seemed to propogate, but I found problems almost immediately. When accessing or test.org, or mail.test.org, most times I get what's on the yahoo servers, but sometimes it hits testhost (still happening 5/14/06). FTP to test.org hits one or the other. It can change for minutes or hours.
Not a PC issue (system crash around 5/8 caused disk reformat and return to factory settings). Also, I still receive 1 or 2 emails (spam) per day to the testhost mail server (checked with webmail) that are addressed to somename@test.org. Sent a message to randy@test.org from testhost webmail and it wound up at testhost.
tracert shows can be yahoo and test.org can be testhost 3 seconds apart. All test.org addresses have resolved to both yahoo and testhost over the past days, randomly.
Did IPconfig /flushdns and seemed to fix it for a while but the problem returned, and on my second PC that had no effect.
Yahoo, Charter, testhost, Godaddy all say it is not a problem with them. (Suprise!)
I'll be glad to provide more info if anyone is interested. I've been chasing this for over a week.
