Hi
I have a Windows 2000 Server (no supprise there) I have run dcpromo from another Windows 2000 Server, but when it asked for the new domain details, it gives me a error........
The domain "example.com" is not an Active Directory domain, or an Active Directory domain controller for the domain could not be located.
I have upgraded an old PDC to the new 2000 DC and I has Active Directory running (you have to), so heres my question.
Does Windows 2000 Server use DNS to find the DC if it does, how does it find the DC? problem I see with DNS is this, our website is and our domain is example.com how would I put the domain and the DC into DNS.
Hope that makes sense
Simon
