I have four machines in a small office, all the machines had apache server installed on them and configured such that from any machine i could access Mysql database.

I changed to network from a workgroup to a domain. Now i cant access apache from another machine on the network. Only local machine can access their apache (//office.mycompany.com) takes me to the localhost.

HOw do i solve this problem?

I remember having to create a DNS entry on the windows server to allow my apache from linux to work. Have you tried this?

Thanks,

I have not tried this because i run apache from windows. i dont have linux installed on any of the machines.

Hi there,
i have tried to run DNS since am using windows 2003 server, but i can't seem to configure it well. Av tried to use the help but to no avail, the DNS was successfuly createed but thats it. how to get it working, i dont know.

I can access the machines using their IP addresses though!

That still sounds like a name resolution problem, and I don't use Windows 2003 server so I won't be much help trying to fix it.

Another thing to check is if netbios is functioning. Try browsing to the computer affected with it's computer name in windows explorer (like \\mycomputer). If that does work, the computer should be browsable... then I'm out of ideas.

It still sounds like the computer name isn't registered in netbios or the dns for it is incorrect.
