Domain Group Policy and Users using it

Okay guys I'm setting up a roaming profile I have the home directories taken care of (easy part) now I want to set policy ot the user and machines. I noticed I could use poledit like in nt 4.0, but I saw that domain policy group with all the neat little things you can disable and enable I even saw where you could add users to it that you wanted this policy to apply too. Well I have been unable to get it to work successfully, unfortunately my knowledge is not that advanced yet. I also did some research on a program called mmc where I can create a console and add and modify group policy and other things. Question can I and if so how do I use the Domain Group Policy to hand out what the user and computer can do?

Well, you use Organizational Units (OU's) in Active Directory Users and Computers, and then assign group policies to each OU ... you can impliment OU's on computer accounts, users, and groups. There is a thousand plus things you can do with group policies, here's some more info.

Thank you so much jahlmer!! Your link finally put an end to my curse. I couldn't understand why my Group Policies were not taking affect on client computers. (It was only working on my Server) I finally got it too work!! Gee, can ya tell I'm happy!! =)
