Hello Everyone..

I have 2 domain controllers on the network. The original Domain Controller is having so many problems (hardware)
We want to completely replace it. Can we just take it off the network and replace the machine?
It was never configured for anything else but authenticating. If yes will the other domain controller take over automatically?

Whats the best way to do something like this?

Thank You so much!
Will

You'll want to run dcpromo on the machine you want to take off the network. This will demote it to a stand alone server. The other machine should take over. Make sure you've got a good backup first. Glen A. Johnson
