I need some help here for I'm about to deploy a domain controller for the first time and I need some docs on it. What docs can I use besides the MOC 1561 (official material) to help me out? and where to find it?
thanks.

Are you adding this DC to an existing domain or creating a new one?

If you are creating a new one then you have lot more to read than how to set up a DC. You need to plan out your AD, decide what services to run like DNS & DHCP, plan Group Policies, etc. ad nausium

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Mark

Thanks Mark, but the technical stuffs are not the problem, I've done it before but never as the technical leader of the project.
My real problem is the planning part of it. I need to build a project plan and I have no clue what information will be crucial to do this task.

Do you have any paper on the planning steps of setting a DC up ?

Hopping you can help me.

Hi Rodrigo,

You did not respond if your project is for just setting up a DC or also setting up AT. Major difference in the planning.

You might want to do a search on Microsoft.com. They have some really good project guides.

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Mark

Hi Mark,
