Hi
Not sure if this should be in here or if the problem lies with IE.

On my home laptop I'm set up as Administrator and others as Limited users. However the limited users can't log into their hotmail accounts.

I can log into a hotmail account and if I change the account type to admin the problem goes away. But I don't want to give admin rights to all.

I've checked the help files for hotmail etc and cookies are enabled etc.

I have another PC running Win Media Edition with the same users set up and I/we don't get the same prolem.

Any pointers would be a great help!

I'm running xp pro (obviously!) sp2, IE6, Norton Internet Security.

You cannot access your MSN e-mail account or authenticate with a Web site in various programs

The setting for the standard users should disable cookies. Enable cookies on the standard accounts, and it should work.

Hope this Helps.

Thanks for the bewildering array of possible solutions. I'm still working through them bit by bit but the ones that seem to point most obviously at a solution (page cannot be displayed and hotmail tips) have proved fruitless:-(

Thanks for you suggestion. However, despite having the technical nouse of a table that was the frst thing I'd tried, I think. I've also made it a trusted site and specifically added to the allowed site list. Still no joy.

The solution I know will work is to give everyone admin rights but I don't want to!!

However the limited users can't log into their hotmail accounts

What exactly do you mean? What is the result. Error 404 PCNBD? MSN Error? UN\PW Incorrect?

Hope this Helps.

Hi Neil
The problem is that we get a "Page Cannot be Displayed" Error when anyone is logged onto this PC as a user set up with limited priveledges. There are no complex things involved like specific policies for any user on this machine, just the basic "create a user" route.

However when I change any account types to Admin there is no problem.

This is really the bit that confuses me and why I posted on this forum rather than browser issues, or similar! I am still going to be working through the suggestions linney has posted but my gut feeling was that the problem was with user account types.

In my mind (which ain't all that full) I can't see beyond this being a problem with win xp user types.

The PC in question is actually a laptop connected to the internet through a Linksys modem/router, usually wirelessly but the prolem persists when patched directly into the router.

But on another PC running Win XP Media, with the same user setups and rights there isn't a problem. At all!!

Why can't these things "just work"?

Have you tried removing the Hotmail account from within each user's login and then setting them up once more?

Although Cookies are shown and listed in the T.I.F. they are actually stored in a separate folder -
