Does Veritas 9.0 or 9.1 installs some Microsoft SQL components ?

Some quick questions :



1) I am curious to know if Veritas Backup Exec for windows
server installs some kind of SQL SERVER OR MSDE(
microsoft desktop engine) during its installation ?


2) Where does Veritas store all the backup
information,does it have its own database ?

Yes, it installed MSDE SLQ 2000 SP3a. All jobs, media set, and device information is stored in the database. Catlogs of tapes are saved in a seperate directory called CATALOTGS. The DATA directory contains the SQL database as well as job logs.
