Does /usr/lib/uucp/Systems allow login in SWE?

Does uucp allow login in other language than english?

I got login failure when trying.
The login name is accepted, but the password is not.
Is is a bug that uucico can´t handle the swedish åäö?

obvious question is -- if you have a passwd with only english characters, does it work then? Mike
