I am doing a project in which i am in a quandry whether to use MS SQL or take the XML based approach using LUCENE(A search Engine by Apache).

However if MS SQL does support the Searches how to go about it?
Please let me know as soon as possible.

SQL does support Full Text based searching.
There's masses of info in Books Online which comes with SQL.
I'm sorry I don't have much info about it, but have briefly gone over it on as course and it seems very powerful.
Hope this helps..
Scott

I'm fairly sure you need to specify that you want to use this facility when you install SQL Server.
