Does CR report Image Transparency?

I'd like to insert an image (PNG format) that has transparency. However in CR the transparent portions show up as white and cover over whatever color is behind the image.

I hunted about for setting on the image format but cant find one. Does anyone have an idea I might try?

For example I have colored filled box, and want to put the image on top of that box such that for the transparent portions the color shows through. All I get is white instead.

Place the image in a section of its own. Format that section by selecting the 'Underlay Following Sections' option.

This will cause a watermark effect. If you place it in the page header the secton will be underlayed on the entire page. If you place it in the group header it will underlay the group.

Thanks,

I did as you described and it works, in so far as placing the image underneath, but CR still won't repsect the image's transparent portions. They come up white. :-(

I can change the transparency to match the background color, but its hard to get a precise match... plus it tedious if the background color changes.

Can you edit the background of the image opting for 'nocolor' as the color?

Sadly no, I can even set the background color of the image to match the background I need and it still comes up white. I guess CR just interprets transparency as white.

For now I'm just replacing the transparency color in the images with the background color I need.
