I know Access 97 databases have a one gig size limit. Is there a limit for individual tables as well?

I'm asking here because you all are usually lightning fast, and I'm not sure where to look in the documentation.

Thanks for any help!

Off the top of my head... isn't it that the tables have a 1gig limit? Rob Marriott

No, it's a gig limit for the database. Ran into that wall last month and learned about repairing and compacting. This month it seemed to be a table size error.

I do have more information now. While running an insert SQL script we got:

"File sharing lock count exceeded. (Error 3052)"

Access Help suggested raising the MaxLocksPerFile number in the Registry. The default was 9500.

Does anyone know how this number impacts large processes? We doubled it, but don't know if that's the best way to troubleshoot this error.

Thanks again!
