I know that Causeway Technologies ( have a module called Project Import/Export which should do this for you.

But do they had done any migration before from documentum to livelink? It would be total content migration for a system of around 1500 users. Any other ideas...or suggestions?
To get content into livelink use object importer.If it is more than content one should explore other avenues such as Greg's suggestion or globalcents.com or syntergy.com
